The business opened last Tuesday and owner Ophelia Heffernan said a steady stream of customers tried the ever changing range of salads from around the world.
"It's been really good, better than I could have expected," she said.
"There's a Japanese cabbage salad that's very popular."
She recently moved back to Australia from France where she ran a yacht charter.
"I had never done anything food related by I love salads and my friends love my food," she said.
She said although there are plenty of excellent cafes in town several people have said there was a need for fresh take-away salads such as for people who work in town.
Speech pathology opens
High demand expressed through the NDIS has led to the opening of Move Your Mouth Speech Pathology at 347 Summer Street.
The business only opened on Monday but speech pathologist Zara Fraser is already booked out and is trying to hire another speech pathologist or occupational therapist.
"I ran my own business in Sydney and moved to Orange two years ago," Ms Fraser said.
"I realised with NDIS we didn't have enough services to cater for demand in the Central West."
She said due to the shortage of therapists, many organisations prioritise early intervention and have an age cut-off at 12, but she will not have that cut off so older children don't slip through the gap.
New name for pharmacy
Orange Compounding Pharmacy has left the Cincotta chain and moved into a new shopfront next door.
Co-proprietor Kate Gray said it was time to leave the chain and increase its capabilities as a compounding pharmacy that could create or vary dosages of medications and ointments.
"We wanted to embrace the fact that we are a community pharmacy and we wanted to get back to our professional roots.
"With COVID there's a lot of pharmacies that have been in short supply in the last nine months."
However, she said the business can overcome those supply issues as long as it can source the raw materials.
