Supporters of US President Donald Trump have breached barricades and broke into the Capitol, forcing an evacuation of the building on Wednesday in Washington.
President-Elect Joe Biden has called the violence a "dark moment" for America.
Both chambers of Congress abruptly recessed as they were debating the Electoral College vote that gave Joe Biden the presidency.

“This is treason. This is insurrection. This is rebellion,” says @VanJones68 of pro-Trump rioters. “I have heard people looking at small protests in Portland, Oregon — where people were teargassed, beaten, kidnapped — and they said... ‘We have to have law and order.’” pic.twitter.com/KxnaEEZBjk— CNN (@CNN) January 6, 2021
