Jason Trudgett, 44, of Maramba Road, was driving a Toyota Camry along Glenroi Avenue when he was stopped by police for random drug and alcohol testing about 7.30pm on July 7.
During the stop Trudgett produced a P2 driver's licence and he returned a negative result for alcohol.
Police then tested him for drugs and he returned positive results for both cannabis and methamphetamine.
Trudgett was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station for further testing.
A sample was then sent away and a laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of cannabis and methamphetamine in his system.
In relation to his drug use Trudgett told a police officer, "I smoked pot yesterday, meth the day before that".
Magistrate David Day convicted Trudget and fined him $330 and disqualified him from driving for three months.
Solicitor Charlotte Pascall said Trudgett attended part of a Traffic Offenders Intervention Program and he secured full-time work not long before he appeared in court.
