NSW Fire and Rescue started the New Year by responding to a car fire in Orange on Friday morning.

Orange Station Officer Brad Monico said the firefighters were called to a vacant lot at Leura Road at 1.43am on New Year's Day.
Mr Monico said it took firefighters about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
"It was a police matter," Mr Monico said.
"It was a deliberately lit car fire."
It will now be up to police to investigate the car fire.
