Chris Tremain made his first appearance of the season for the Sydney Thunder on Tuesday night and claimed the prize wicket of Glenn Maxwell but it was a teammate who stole the show.

The Thunder crushed the Melbourne Stars in their Big Bash League match at Manuka Oval, thanks largely to a devastating 71 from just 29 balls from English opening batsmen Alex Hales.
Hales' brutal knock, one of the best of BBL10 so far, set the Thunder on their way to an imposing total of 7/219 and that proved too much for the Stars.
The Melbourne side finished at 144, with Yeoval product Tremain bagging 2/27 in his first match for the Thunder this season.
Since returning to NSW from Victoria ahead of the 2020/21 season the former Western Zone quick has found playing time with the Blues or Thunder hard to come by.
He got his chance against the Stars but there was no warm welcome back to the Big Bash for Tremain, who was forced to recover well after Marcus Stoinis took a liking to his bowling early on.
Tremain entered the attack in the third over of the innings and his first over went for 18 runs as Stoinis hit him for a six and two fours.
But the former Western Zone quick bounced back later in the innings and returned to knock over the dangerous Maxwell.
Maxwell top edged a bouncer from Tremain and was out after Adam Milne covered plenty of ground in the outfield and took a great catch.
Tremain then returned to bowl the final over and finished things off by taking the final wicket of Adam Zampa in the second last ball of the innings.
Tremain finished the match with 2/25 from 2.5 overs while spinners Chris Green and Tanvir Sangha again starred.
Green took 4/34 from his four overs while youngster Sangha claimed 2/17 from four in the latest showcase of his potential.
Hales highlighted the performance of young players like Sangha and the hard-hitting when discussing his side's balance post-game.
"It's a really exciting group of experienced players and young guns as well," Hales said.
"We're quietly confident that if we keep our foot on the gas and keep playing aggressive cricket, we can be there at the end, for sure."
The Thunder now leave their Canberra bubble and travel to a hub in Queensland, with their next match against the Melbourne Renegades on January 1.
