At the beginning of the month, Nicole Buesnal created an online map that would detail as many locations as possible where families could grab a glimpse of the decorations.
"Back during Covid I created a teddy bear hunt map where people put teddy bears in windows and people loved it," she said.
"Instantly I thought that's what I wanted to do for Christmas.
"I know what' it's like with young children.
"One of my kids is three and the other is one and we wanted to take them around last year, but with their bed time and it not getting dark until later, it just makes it hard.
"You have a limited time to look at lights before they go to bed so I thought this would help out."
So far, 80 houses have been added to the list across Orange, and Mrs Buesnal has seen pretty much all of them.
"People are so thankful for the time and effort I've put in to create it," she said.
"But it's not about that, it's to help other families. There's nothing worse worse than going out for a drive and not finding any lights because then the kids are left disappointed.
"I love when the streets come together for a bit of light-hearted competition.
"We really enjoyed Lombardy Way because there were so many that gave it a good crack. There was also a giant Santa on Hartford Street that the kids really loved."
But despite her love of the lights and decorations, her rooftop remains bare.
"Those who can't do, teach," she joked.
"Our next door neighbour has lights up and the first thing my son said when he saw them was why weren't there any on our house."
But more than anything, the mother-of-two hopes that she has brought a bit of joy to what has been a tough year for many.
"All I think is how can you be disappointed by bright colours and inflatable Santas," she said.
"It's been a big, crazy 2020 so it's nice to see people still enjoying things."
"Maybe this year people are putting lights up because they want to create more joy for others."
And if you want to get in on the action, then there is still time.
