The 2021 Group 10 draw was released on Thursday, with the eagerly anticipated all-Orange clash - the first Group 10 derby since August 18, 2019, when the two blues won 34-22 to claim the premier league minor premiership - to headline round three.
CYMS begins its 2021 campaign under Daniel Mortimer on the road against Blayney at King George Oval, while Hawks will travel to Lithgow to face Workies.
CYMS will then get a decent tune-up ahead of the derby with a round two clash against two-time defending Group 10 premiers Bathurst Panthers. That clash will act as the curtain-raiser to the Penrith Panthers and Manly Sea Eagles' NRL game at Carrington Park.
Willie Heta and the two blues will enjoy a round two home clash against St Pat's at Wade Park on the eve of the round three derby.
The 14 round regular season will kick-off on Anzac Day weekend, with a grand final slated for Sunday, September 12.
Another exciting part of 2021 season is the re-inclusion of the Group 10 vs. Group 11 Indigenous All-Stars clash, a fixture that's set to take place at Cowra on the weekend of April 10-11.
Group 10 chairman Linore Zamparini says executives were stoked to sign off on the return of what's become and extremely popular pre-season spectacle.
"We've got it going at Cowra again and we're really excited about that," Zamparini said.
"We did everything we could to have it this year but it was just impossible. There's a lot of Indigenous people out at Cowra and it's been a really big success there in the past."
Zamparini also touched on the round two Carrington Park between Panthers and CYMS, indicating it was a very deliberate move to pair the back-to-back premiers with the strongest opposition they could find.
"It's no good putting the Panthers up against a side they're going to walk over," he said.
"There's going to be a lot of people there watching the NRL that night so we want our game to be as high-quality as possible.
"We really want it to be a spectacle."
