Be it Twenty20, second or first grade, the Centrals leg-spinner has been picking up wickets for fun.
But what he produced on Saturday against CYMS put the rest of those performances to shame.
Both teams came into the game needing a win to stay within touching distance of the top four and it was CYMS who would bat first after winning the toss.
Fletcher Rose struck early with the ball at Bloomfield Oval, but CYMS then slowly gathered themselves as they looked to build a huge total.
That's when Dodds stepped in.
"I had taken four wickets with five still in the shed, so I thought if I really push then I might get the chance for a few," he said.
"It was a pretty flat deck so I was just trying to create it something for myself and it ended up working. It all fell into place."
When Dodds picked up his fifth for the day, CYMS had been reduced to to 7-155.
But with some good batting still to come, his job wasn't done just yet.
Bowling in partnerships is also really important, especially as a spinner.

Batting at number 10, Jack Kale put up some resistance with a run-a-ball 61 which pushed CYMS over the 200 mark.
But before the score could get out of control, Dodds stepped up once again to clean up the tail as he finished the day with figures of 7-72 off 24.2 overs as CYMS were bowled out for 245 in the 70th over.
"I think on that pitch we're happy with the score," Dodds said.
"We went into the game looking to get them under 250 and we did that, so pretty pleased.
"We're a bit worried about the rain for next week, but it's definitely a chaseable score."
So what does he put his purple patch of bowling down to this year?
Well, as the old saying goes, catches win matches.
"As a team we're catching better this year and last year we dropped a few," Dodds said.
"We're putting more pressure on teams in the field.
"Bowling in partnerships is also really important, especially as a spinner.
"We've got Fletch back now and Zac's also bowling well, so it all helps."
In reply to CYMS' 245, Centrals got off to slow start with the bat and will resume at 1-21 next Saturday.
