The Oberon concession reinsman, who drives in the main for his father David, was already enjoying his best season in the gig to date as he headed to Parkes with 45 wins to his credit.
He took that tally to 46 thanks to a smart drive aboard $61 roughie Jack Rocks in the TAB Odds and Evens Pace (1,660 metres).
A four-year-old Pet Rock x Zara Rose gelding, Jack Rocks had not won since saluting at Bathurst on April 8. The closest he'd come to success since then was a 6.5m third.
But on Sunday he began well from his barrier one draw, preventing the fast-starting Mighty Joe ($14) from crossing, and once Jack Rocks was in front Reynolds was able to keep him there.
While pressured for most of the journey by Mighty Joe on his outside, Reynolds rated Jack Rocks well. He turned for home with a slim lead, but kicked down the straight to win by 1.9m in a 1:58.4 mile rate.
It was the second win in 13 starts for Jack Rocks, who is trained by David Reynolds, and it also inched Justin Reynolds closer to the 50 wins in a season milestone.
Reynolds is currently ranked ninth on the list of leading concession drivers in New South Wales.
Since making his debut at the Bathurst Paceway aboard Mysterious Bliss in November 2016, he's posted a total of 72 career wins.
