The new shed which was officially unveiled on Saturday morning, was done in the presence of more than 150 local and visiting athletes and their families who were participating in Triathlon NSW's Junior Super Sprint Triathlon Championships.

The Orange Piranhas Triathlon Club was joined by Calare MP Andrew Gee, Member for Orange Phil Donato, Upper House MP Sam Farraway and Orange mayor Reg Kidd as well as representatives from Newscrest to cut the ribbon for the new shed as well the circuit's recently upgraded bike track.

According to the club's president Phil Tudor, the two new upgrades to the circuit has made it "the best facility in the state for this type of racing".

"It's an unbelievable triathlon facility and this gets used by the community every day," he said.

"We'll use it eight times a year, but the community can use it 365 days a year. It's just a great facility."

The club's grants officer thanked Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee for assisting the club in obtaining an Australian Government grant of $12,000 to fund the storage shed, as well as Orange City Council, Newcrest, Orange Credit Union and a number of other businesses that assisted with the upgrade to the track.

"The track's used by a number of different people and groups. During covid it was amazing how many kids and families were just out here skateboarding, riding, walking, running," Mr Martin said.

"I've seen people out here on segway scooters, so it's amazing the use the track actually gets now that it's been upgraded."

In addition to the triathlon and Orange Cycle Club, he said the other groups and events who used the Gosling Creek Reserve bike track included schools, Orange Parkrun, the Orange Running Festival and even human-powered vehicle groups.

As for the new shed, the Orange Bush Nippers would also be getting quite a lot of use out of it, sharing the facility with the triathlon club to store their paddle boards.
