Magistrate David Day offered Blake Robert McDonald a chance to be sentenced on Thursday when he appeared in court via an audio visual link at the end of the day.
Mr Day said he was the last person to appear in court on Wednesday and delaying it would give him an opportunity to have his solicitor present.
However, the 27-year-old from Molloy Drive, said he was in custody having been refused bail for a matter that would not be heard in court until March next year.
According to information that was supplied to the court, McDonald smashed a window at the Orange Botanic Garden on May 16 about 10am.
McDonald then phoned 000 and said he had committed a crime and would wait for police at the North Orange McDonald's but he was not there when police arrived.
In another matter on June 21, McDonald entered the BSW store at the North Orange Shopping Cetnre and stole a bottle of Jim Beam bourbon that was valued at $59.
McDonald entered the store a 5.15pm and a store manager called out to him when he left but he ignored them.
McDonald returned to the same store at 10am the next day and took another $59 bottle of Jim Beam off the shelf and put it in the front pocket of his jumper.
The store manager recognised him from the night before and again yelled and chased after him but McDonald ignored him again.
The manager phoned police who identified McDonald on CCTV.
McDonald re-entered the store again on July 3 and covered half his face with a t-shirt when he stole two 700ml bottles of extra aged Jim Beam bourbon and a bottle of Devil's Cut Jim Beam worth a total of $156.
Although he covered his face, McDonald was wearing black tracksuit pants that had "Bay Area Motor Racing Club" written down the side.
He was arrested following a foot pursuit at 6.20pm that night when he was wearing the same trousers.
Mr Day gave him a seven-month jail sentence with a three-year non-parole period starting from Wednesday for stealing each of the five bottles of bourbon and for covering his face, .
Mr Day also gave McDonald a three-month jail term for damaging the window.
The non-parole periods will expired on February 24, 2021, before his other matter is to be heard.
