Although the girls in green lost the derby by four runs, the Kinross product went on a tear at Spotless Stadium, whacking seven fours on her was to a team-high 46-run effort.
The knock was by far the 17-year-old's best of the campaign as she's looking to work her way back into form after a slow start to her second season in the big leagues.
Litchfield entered the fold when her side was 2-45 after eight overs as Heather Knight was dismissed and after a slow start at the crease, she began to work her way into the match with some inventive shots.
She hit three reverse sweeps in-a-row that all went for four and looked like the Thunder's only hope for a come-from-behind win.
After a huge final over, Litchfield faced the final ball with five runs required for a win when she was clean bowled by Erin Burns.
The loss was the Thunder's fourth in five matches as their record slid to an even 5-5 after 10 contests.
Litchfield's next match will be on Saturday when her side squares off against the Adelaide Strikers at 2.30pm from Drummoyne Oval.
