The Orange City Council has been made redundant as the NSW Governments Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) undertakes the demolition of 1950s public housing in East Orange and the preparation for construction of high density housing.
Council's planning staff, who normally address DA issues such as heritage (significant in this historic part of our city) traffic and social consequences, are sidelined.

This is the same governmental formula which gave us the dysfunctional high density public housing of the past, for years residents of EO have lived with poor housing policy.
"Local need" indeed, stop the PR spin LAHC and listen to the people of East Orange and the Orange City Council.
