A long-time stalwart of the club, Maley was set to step down as leader over the summer as he and his wife are expecting a third baby in just a few weeks time.

Instead, Maley thought it would be better to stick around while calling on some current and former players to spice things up and take on some crucial roles within the committee.

Premier League front rower Cam Jones is set to take on job of registrar, while players Joe Duffy and Lachie Munro will look after the club's merchandise, leaving Josh Piper with a jack-of-all trades role on the committee.

"At our first AGM a couple of weeks ago we had a few people who were looking to step away," Maley said.

"When me met again there were some new guys who were excited to come on board and based on that, myself and a few others decided to stick around.

"It's great now that we've got a nice balance of committee members moving into the 2021 season.

Maley hopes the introduction of the new members will allow each person to hone in on their specific roles.

"The sharing of the load is really good for us because in the past we had some people doing multiple jobs," he said.

"When people understood we needed a bit of help, we got some more members in to spread the work a bit. "It's a big positive that players are taking ownership."

While the year off in 2020 is widely considered a minor rugby league tragedy in the Central West, Maley and the club is trying to approach it with a glass-half-full mentality.

"We want to turn it into a positive," he said. "We're hoping that people come back feeling fresh after the break. It's not hard for volunteers to run a sports club at any level."

And not only does Maley hope the board feels refreshed and ready to go, he's optimistic the Premier League playing group will be able to pick up where it left off in 2020.

"We had a really successful Bathurst knockout with the seniors and we're excited to have Dan Mortimer leading the way and hopefully everyone's ready to go again," he said.

"It was good we kept our junior and league tag programs running to ensure that development keeps going and hopefully all of those players who took a year off are going to be fresh and ready to go when the season starts."

Both of those teams were shining lights in their respective competitions as Cam Jones' under 18s side had a sensational regular season, while the league tag group also qualified for the postseason.

First-grade captain-coach Daniel Mortimer indicated the side will be back on the training paddock as early as December to kick things off before the Christmas break as they work towards another Group 10 title run.
