Orange City Council will debate on Tuesday night whether to accept a recommendation to introduce permanent water saving standards.
That would establish the current Level 2 restrictions on a permanent basis.
That allows residents to water lawns and gardens only every second day within set times based on their residential house number.
However, Cr Scott Munro, is seeking to give residents a break with a call to remove all restrictions ahead of a review next February.
"Orange residents have done a great job in controlling their water usage through very difficult conditions," he said.
"Now that water levels are in much better shape the community should be rewarded with a removal of restrictions."
Council will also debate an application to run a Spring Family Carnival fun weekend event for up to 500 people at the Orange Showground late next month.
And it will consider a call from Cr Stephen Nugent to look at how council can use recycled materials, including glass, in making roads, cycle paths and footpaths.
