The official weather station at the Orange Airport recorded 6.8mm of rain at 9am on Sunday morning, with parts of west Orange reporting 10mm.
And the Bureau of Meteorology is saying that rain is just the beginning.
Friday's forecast suggests a 90 per cent chance of rain on both Friday and Saturday, with up to 20mm and then 40mm predicted respectively.
If the BOM is on the money and 40mm falls next Saturday, it'll be Orange's wettest day since April 30 and will result in the city's storage level - currently sitting at 62.40 per cent - soaring.
The start of the working week will be much drier, with slight chances of rain on Wednesday and Thursday, while the mercury will peak at 22 degrees Celcius on Friday afternoon.
