Mrs McFarlane was born and grew up in Orange and joined the art society two years ago after five of her six daughters grew and left home.
This is the first time Mrs McFarlane's works are being featured.
The exhibition opened at the art society building next to Harris Farm Markets on Saturday afternoon with coronavirus precautions in place.
Mrs McFarlane is largely self taught and said she always loved art and she joined the art society so she could instruct in drawing and create art with like-minded people.
"I thought if I joined the art society it would give me motivation," she said.
Although her drawings include portraits of people, Mrs McFarlane said she loves to paint animals and does commission work. Some of the paintings on display are on loan from Summer Street Veterinary Clinic, while others are for sale.
"I just love animals and their expressions plus they don't have to look exactly like the animal whereas portraits do, and I love colour," Mrs McFarlane said.
Mrs McFarlanes featured works will remain on exhibition until November 7 and can be viewed whenever the art society's flag is on display in the car park.
