The return of one-day matches to the competition asked clubs to display their ability to score quick and stay cool under pressure - and City Colts, Rugby Union, Cavaliers, Orange City and St Pat's Old Boys all obliged.
Some teams haven't wasted time attempting to stamp their authority on the competition as they claimed comprehensive wins to start the season.
ST PAT'S OLD BOYS (3-88) defeated CENTENNIALS BULLS (84)
LAST season's highest-ranking Bathurst side in the BOIDC, St Pat's Old Boys, showed exactly why they finished there with Saturday's comprehensive seven wicket win over Centennials Bulls in their opening round clash.
Pat's didn't hesitate in sending Bulls in to bat on a testing Sportsground wicket and outside of Blake Aubin (35) no-one for Centennials was able to hang around for a long time as they were dismissed for 84.
A destructive Saints bowling trio of Hamish Siegert (3-9), Matt Fearnley (3-13) and Mitch Taylor (3-16) did very little wrong in a dominant bowling performance.
Andrew Brown (31) and Bailey Brien (16) got the Pat's chase off to a steady start before they fell to the bowling of Ethan Muller (1-10) and Nathan Maher (1-16) respectively.
Kyle Aubin picked up the big wicket of captain Adam Ryan for just three runs but the next men in, Connor Slattery (18 not out) and Cooper Brien (12 not out) finished the job before 23 overs had been bowled.
CAVALIERS (8-104) defeated CENTRALS (102)
They rolled up to Riawena Oval without their leader but a Matt Corben-less Cavaliers side still kicked off their Bathurst Orange Inter District Association campaign in style with a two-wicket win over Centrals.
Centrals set a total of 102 which the winning side tracked down in a tick over 26 overs,
The result means both City and Cavaliers have started their seasons with positive results after the majority of pundits across the league dubbed the Orange sides as strong hopes to be at the pointy end of the ladder when the whips are cracking.
Cavaliers will gear up for another favourable match up in round two when they take on Centennials Bulls.
Centrals will look to bounce back in a date with Bathurst City who turned in a disappointing performance against City Colts in their opening clash.
CITY COLTS (1-26) defeated BATHURST CITY (125)
CITY Colts had to wait a long time to get their first win of the 2019-20 BOIDC season but they drastically shortened the wait time for their next attempt.
Colts got off the mark with a win on Saturday as they claimed a comfortable nine-wicket win over Bathurst City.
Captain Dan Casey (5-21) led by example for the Colts with his five wicket haul dismantling the Redbacks' lower order.
Josh Toole (4-26) pitched in with a plethora of his own wickets as Bathurst City lost their last nine wickets for just 24 runs - all out for 125 at Loco Oval.
Ben Orme was a shining light for the Redbacks as the opener blasted 10 boundaries in his knock of 71.
Orme, Cohen Schubert (24) and Joey Coughlan (15) all set a solid platform to work from but not a single other Redbacks batsman would make it past six runs.
However, Colts still had plenty of work to do with the bat, and bad memories of last season's collapses would have been fresh in their minds.
But openers Dave Sellers (54) and Henry Shoemark (53 not out) quickly dispelled those thoughts with the BOIDC season's first century stand.
The pair were in their element in the one-day environment, keeping the score ticking up quickly above the required run rate.
By the time Sellers fell to the bowling of Haydn Edwards (1-4), Wayne Sellers (7 not out) was left with just seven runs to get.
It's Casey's first five wicket haul since November 2017 against St Pat's, where he claimed 6-47.
RUGBY UNION (154) defeated KINROSS (9-152)
Rugby Union have come away winners from a game against Kinross at Bloomfield Oval which came down to the last ball of the contest, with the Orange side needing three runs to claim victory.
But Rugby's hero of the day, Hugh McIntyre, rose to the occasion to claim his sixth wicket of the match and ensure the Bathurst men defended their total of 154.
McIntyre (6-23) tore through the middle and lower order of his former club to help Rugby regain the ascendancy in their defence.
Kinross at one stage were at 3-132 and looking like heading towards a win on the back of a spirited knock from opener Dave Hunter (63).
McIntyre had other ideas, claiming the big scalp of Hunter and finishing off a memorable day in the field in the best way possible.
Earlier in the day, Imran Qureshi would top the Rugby scorecard with 31 but some middle order help from Jeremy Thackray (27), Percy Raveneau (19) and Evan Jones (16) helped push the total into triple figures.
Nelson Shepherd was the standout bowler for Kinross with figures of 3-20 from his eight overs.
ORANGE CITY (8-201) defeated CYMS (8-190)
ORANGE City have got their BOIDC championship defence off to an excellent start with a hard-fought 11 run win over CYMS at Jack Brabham 2.
City never really faltered at any stage in their ambition to set a strong target after winning the toss, making their way to 8-201 from their 40 overs.
Lachie Coyte (51) found the first half century of the season for City and wasn't alone in putting in the hard work with the willow.
Ed Morrish (37) and Blake Weymouth (34) were the next best contributors.
Adam Smith (3-43) was the pick of the CYMS bowlers.
Dave Neil didn't waste time at the crease for CYMS as he nine boundaries on his way to a score of 70.
He and Gavin Bridge (38) put on an 87 run partnership to take CYMS within sight of victory but the required run rate grew out of their reach.
Wickets were shared around the City order, with Brett Causer claiming two (2-41).
