Councillors told the latest Orange City Council meeting they had been contacted by people calling for the collection to be moved forward.
Cr Kevin Duffy said he had received "untold phone calls" from people wanting the pick up to happen before Christmas.
A lot of families are asking for it to be brought forward.

He called for a report to council on whether it could be moved. "A lot of families are asking for it to be brought forward," he said.
"A lot of people have had a very cathartic year as regards to the pressures that have been put on them with COVID and other things," he said.
Cr Glenn Taylor said he had also been contacted be residents who were "disappointed" it was in February and not before Christmas.
Technical Services director Ian Greenham said February was chosen to avoid rubbish being on the streets when a tourism event was on.
"There really wasn't the opportunity for a good block of time until February to do this without having some of this bulky waste occurring when we're encouraging other people into town for whatever event might be happening on that particular weekend or week," he said.
"That's why we chose February. It is also during daylight savings time and it's also just after a long weekend in January."
Council has not yet announced the date it plans to collect bulky waste from residents. Every rates notice now has an extra charge of $11.35 for the collection, regardless of whether people actually use the service.
Orange City Council's Environmental Sustainability Committee chair Cr Stephen Nugent said there had been calls from the community to reinstate the annual bulky waste collection after it was discontinued several years ago.
"We're looking at organising the collection event so that more materials, such as steel and waste refrigerators containing gas, can be collected separately for recycling," Cr Nugent said.
