The surface has seen plenty of action over the last month, with two full days of Blowes Clothing Cup action moved to the Wade Park in September to allow more people to attend rugby union finals, with the grand finals on September 26.
Normally Group 10 grand final day is on, at the latest, the second Sunday in September. And Orange has to have either CYMS or Hawks win the major semi-final for that game to be played at Wade Park.
As a result of the later finish for footy at Wade Park in 2020, the field will be put on ice for a further week while maintenance staff work to bring the surface up to speed in time for a jam-packed summer of cricket.
Not only will the T20 fixture be moved to later in the year, the opening Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket Association clash between Orange City and CYMS will be moved to Jack Brabham Park.
Orange District Cricket Association president Mark Frecklington understands the turn of events aren't ideal but always knew they were possible.
"This was always a chance to happen," Frecklington said.
"We scheduled everything to start from the beginning of the season because we really wanted to get it going but Wade Park just isn't ready yet.
"We don't know when the Orange City-Bathurst City match will be rescheduled but I can't see it happening until December. It might be on a Sunday but we'll see how we go."
