The mountain is a major district attraction and visitors who come to see the snow are disappointed to find the road is shut.

Wouldn't it be better to clear the road if there's a heavy fall to make it safe for vehicles so we can all, including lots of visitors, take advantage of our unique attraction.

Surely Cabonne Council could at least allow four-wheel-drives or a four-wheel-drive operator to ferry people up and down.

There'd be tourism operators who'd probably jump at the chance to run a snow ferry service and it would enable visitors to get safely to the top.

Apparently it's the SES that advises Cabonne to pull down the shutters even if snow is forecast and good falls last weekend and last month dozens of cars cut up the parks and road verges at the bottom of the mountain.
