On Saturday Stockman's Ridge winery at Lidster and local pit masters Smoking Brothers are joining forces for a five-and-a-half hour celebration of vino, beer, cider and barbecue.

The belt-loosening, mouth-watering menu includes BBQ braised beef brisket, oak-smoked sticky BBQ wings, hickory and apple wood-fired pulled pork with a maple glaze, garlic roasted baby potatoes with herb butter, seasonal greens with pesto dressing, and sweet mustard slaw.
Bringing up the rear is a brownie with caramel mascarpone.
The $99 ticket includes food, entertainment and two drink vouchers, with food from 1-2pm.
Stockman's Ridge is also hosting a Sip & Graze event from October 1 to October 31. The ticket includes an artisan cheese board with cured meats, dried fruit, dip and crackers, and two glasses of wine.
While the Orange Wine Festival, and events such as the Orange Wine Show and public tasting, and night markets, were cancelled in August due to COVID restrictions, the region is still showcasing its cool climate wines via a series of more intimate events.
Other Wine Month events include:
* Millthorpe Wine Tastings - Heritage with Wine (October 1-30)
Spend the day exploring Millthorpe, with tastings at three cellar doors;
* A Hoosegg Dinner with Philip Shaw - October 3
Join owner/winemaker Philip Shaw in an intimate dinner to launch Hoosegg's 2017 range, voted among the top wines in Australia and New Zealand. Paired with a four-course dinner by chef Josie Chapman;
* The Cumulus Vineyards Pop Up Cellar Door comes to Ferment, The Orange Wine Centre. Locally grown, high-altitude wines.
* Ross Hill Winery Daily Complimentary Tours - until January 31, 2021
Before opening for tastings each day, they offer guests a complimentary tour of their Ross Hill carbon neutral winery. The tour is followed by a wine tasting mid-morning, featuring a range of the Ross Hill Wines.
* The Tasting Trail - October 1 to October 30
Enjoy a walking tour of the city highlighting the diverse food and wine history. Conclude with a tasting plate of seasonal, local produce and sample local wines or gin. Trail starts at Bills Beans, East Orange.
All events in the Orange Wine Month program are certified COVID-Safe, and will adhere to the latest public health orders.
