Work involving controlled low impact blasting to remove granite to allow for shoulder widening on the highway will get under way at Meadow Flat on Monday.
Blasting will be carried out once a day between 11am and 1pm and is expected to take four days to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic control, a reduced speed limit and a detour on Sunny Corner Road will be in place during blasting, preparation and clean up.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Motorists should allow an additional 15 minutes' travel time to their journey.
This blasting work is to enable the $8 million road widening and resurfacing at Medlow Flat, with work to continue into December, weather permitting.
Transport for NSW thanked motorists for their patience during this time.
