The winery is part of a NSW government-driven Farms of the Future pilot program that encourages the use of the latest advances in digital technology.

Those latest advances were on show when the Nationals deputy leader Paul Toole visited the Angullong vineyard at Panuara, south-west of Cadia recently.

Angullong property owner James Crossing said the introduction of new technologies would provide an opportunity to more carefully monitor and manage resources.

"This technology will give real time information on our water, soil moisture, weather and in-crop conditions, having this all at our finger tips," Mr Crossing said

"With this it will save us valuable time and resources which contributes to the success of our farming business."

The smart agricultural technologies on show at Angullong are a range of commercially available devices and products which are going to be tested on three properties including Angullong and properties at Narromine and Coonamble.

Mr Toole said the pilot program is a chance for regional NSW to take a step forward, with connectivity issues often being a barrier for farmers and agribusinesses to make the most of digital technologies on their properties.

"There are big opportunities out there for our farmers with many properties being in isolated areas. And with the government continuing to deliver better connectivity, it will enable better access to on-farm technologies for primary producers," Mr Toole said.

"I am sure this Farms of the Future pilot program will see great results in regional areas and that's great."

Mr Toole is also the member for Bathurst, which Angullong is in, and said his electorate has already seen an increase in mobile connectivity with the installation of nine mobile phone towers.
