There are several different events happening at the Museum and across the cultural precinct that kids will love.
If you would like your kids to gain more in-depth knowledge about either of our current exhibitions, you can book into one of our free guided family tours. Four tours are on offer during the school holiday period.
You can book into a choice of two dates for each of our current exhibitions; 'Inherit: old and new histories' and 'Code Breakers: Women in Games'. Each tour will combine storytelling, questions to ponder, and socially distanced activities.
Children of all ages will love learning more about women in gaming and the stories behind the objects in 'Inherit'.
Each child will receive a free activity pack, with a range of activities to complete at home. This includes two fun craft exercises with all materials included.
There's also plenty for kids to do when they visit the museum without a tour guide, including a fun-packed new young explorers' guide for our local history exhibition 'Inherit: old and new histories'.
This free activity booklet guides younger learners through the exhibition to discover more about the objects and stories on display - they can find clues, answer questions, solve riddles and draw what they see, all while learning more about the people and events that have helped shape the Central West's past and present.
Young explorers' guides and pencils will be available at the Museum's front desk from Monday.
Across the cultural precinct, there's also a great new school holiday creative challenge on offer.
This jam-packed, action challenge takes kids and families on an adventure through Orange City Council's cultural precinct with a fun range of free activities to complete.
As part of this challenge, you will be visiting the Museum and Library, and exploring the Orange Regional Gallery's outdoor sculptures to discover something new. With 16 different challenges, can you complete them all?
You can get your copy of the Orange City Council's school holiday creative challenge from the Orange Regional Museum, the Visitor Information Centre, or the Orange City Library.
