A sheep graziers warning is in place for Orange and the surrounding areas with freezing temperatures, rain and showers, combined with westerly winds, expected to bring snow across Friday and Saturday.
Cabonne Council says it is monitoring the conditions but as a precaution has closed access to the top of Mount Canobolas from 9am, September 25.
"Due to predicted inclement weather, Council has been advised to close access roads to Mount Canobolas," the council said.
"Council will be monitoring the conditions during this time. Please be safe on the roads.:"
Orange is forecast to see a top temperature of 11 degrees on Friday before a low of zero overnight, with a 95 per cent chance of snow come Friday afternoon and into the evening.
A top of 7 degrees is predicted for Saturday, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting a 70 per cent chance of snow showers in the morning.
