Katy and Kathleen Smith opened REDS: Choose Colour last week.
Kathleen Smith formerly ran Green Door Antiques and Gifts in Orange and is now selling cushions and other items she collected in Ghana, West Africa, as well as from Papua New Guinea and from other locations from across the globe.
Katy Smith also runs a business, Terrestial Healing and is selling crystals and fossils associated from that business in the new shop. She also has a client room where she can do readings and crystal healing and intuitive work.
The shop also sells pop art by another of Mrs Smith's daughters, Sarah Smith who previously solder her art in Hunters Hill and Balmain.
The shop is opposite the former Kelly's Hotel.
Help at home
A qualified horticulturist and landscaper with years of experience in the building industry has launched a gardening and home maintenance business in Orange.
Stuart Bradford launched Helping Hand Home Maintenance to provide services including general repairs, home improvements, lawn and garden maintenance, landscaping and flat pack assembly.
He said it might take someone half a day to put together a flat pack that he could do in half an hour, and he can source electricians and plumbers for areas he is not qualified for.
"I noticed a need in Orange for reliable people to just go and help people at their homes," Mr Bradford said.
"I'm also catering for large landscaping jobs."

Cellar door opens
Parrot Distilling Co has opened its new cellar door in Endsleigh Avenue. The Orange-based gin distillery started in 2018 and founder Ben Cochrane said the new cellar door is next to the distillery and is open on weekends with bookings required.
"Gin is something that I've always been pretty passionate about, we thought we would try and make our own and from there it just got bigger and bigger and bigger," Mr Cochrane said.
"You can do a full tour and do a tasting at the end," he said.
Mr Cochrane said the gin is also sold at 72 venues across NSW including 12 in Orange.
