He's humble, he's grateful, and he's bloody keen to pave his way as an NRL talent over the next decade or so.
The 20-year-old is fresh off a dream debut for the St George Illawarra Dragons where he accounted for all his side's score, bagging a double in the Red V's 37-8 loss to the Canberra Raiders.
And after such an impactful first-up appearance, how could coach Dean Young not pick him again?
The Molong marvel is set to make his second showing in first grade as the Dragons will head North to take on another top eight side in the Newcastle Knights on Sunday afternoon.
Ramsey said despite the big occasion of an NRL debut,he felt right as rain before kick-off.
"I was pretty nervous throughout the whole week but after all the boys got around me on game day, the nerves went away," Ramsey said.
"It was just such a good vibe around the club and everyone was really excited for me and my debut.
"[Zac] Lomax was really good to have on the outside of me and talked me through everything throughout the whole week... it was just a great experience."
Ramsey's got no shortage of motivation but he's been greatly boosted by the support from Molong and is honoured to carry the town's flag.
"The whole town and all the people I grew up with are backing me and that helps me out heaps," he said.
"Even when I go home everyone's there and everyone comes to see me.
"Even if everyone can't get to the game, I know all my mates are supporting me and that definitely means a lot."
While it might not have been evident watching his debut on TV, Ramsey admitted he was heavy battling at times due to the quick track at Wollongong and the relentlessness of the Raiders.
"Everyone told me the game was going to be quick," he said.
"I'm a pretty fit person but I was blowing really really hard. Even though there were a lot of stops I was still tired."
It was a two-try effort from Ramsey but it was almost a hat-trick as a would-be intercept was called back for Ramsey being offside.
It was a heads-up play from the youngster as he made a quick decision to play the pass from Jarrod Croker, a move that almost paid off deluxe.
"I saw the half shift the ball towards my side and I knew Croker was going to pass so I told myself I was going for the intercept," he said.
"I still had about 30 metres to go when I heard the whistle but I still wanted to run and put the ball down - just in case."
One of the many narratives at the St George Illawarra club in 2020 has been the coaching switch from Mary McGregor to Dean Young and Ramsey had nothing but high praise for both mentors.
"He's all about competitiveness and those one per cent plays," he said.
"He's straight up and honest with you and that's what you want to hear. He's really good on what roles you need to focus on... he's been great and Mary was great too."
He had big shoes to fill (literally) coming into the first-grade side for Mikaele Ravalawa and even though he's aware his game style is very different to the Fijian bulldozer, he was confident in the impact he could make - especially after watching a couple of smaller backs go about their work.
"I've watched guys like Josh Addo-Carr and Ryan Papenhuyzen play and they're not the biggest guys but they still punch through holes," he said.
"I was fairly confident coming into first grade that I could compete. My first game was all about learning. It was obviously my first start in first grade and I didn't know what it would be like.
"There were a few takeaways from the game for me and there are a few defensive things I need to work on like getting my angles right."
It was a jammed-packed week, but now it's business as usual ahead of his second game against the Knights.
What's the scouting report ahead of a trip to the Hunter? Shut down Pearce and Ponga.
"When those two are at their best they're unstoppable," he said.
"We need to maintain those lads and I just need to catch balls and do my job."
Cody Ramsey will don the number five jersey for the second week in-a-row as his Dragons will kick-off a game at Newcastle at 4.05pm on Sunday.
