Hugo Belmonte took out his maiden tournament at the club's first in-house event since the onset of COVID and he did so in the boys 101-140 average bracket, beating out Zavier Priest and Ben Garlow.
And even though young Hugo's triumph was one of the more special moments to emerge from Monday, there were plenty of up and coming bowlers who put their best foot forward as well.
The girls 101-140 average winner was Reese Board with Ella Zelukvic finishing in second, while the 100 and under winners from the boys and girls were Braxton Throup and Shaylei McLachlan.
The 141 average and over class was highly competitive as William Rollin took out the title ahead of Travis McMahon and Steven McConnell.
Orange City Bowl co-owner Marisa Belmonte said the comeback event went as good as anyone could ask for and had many highlights.
"It was lovely because we were able to have children from different bowling leagues," Belmonte said.
"The kids were able to meet other bowlers they normally wouldn't be able to and that was great.
"We just decided to hold an in-house tournament because we knew we wouldn't be able to have our bigger one at the end of the year and we also couldn't have kids come here from other regions.
"We wanted to have a bit of fun and we a bit competitive at the same time."
At the conclusion of the competition, Jason Belmonte presented the winners with their trophy and Marisa said he took a little longer to read out his son's name.
"He was quite choked up and he needed a bit of time to compose himself," she said.
"I think he suddenly felt what it was like to be a parent and it was a really really proud moment for him."
Monday was an important milestone for the club as it was the first even of its kind in a long time and looking back on it, Belmonte's simply ecstatic.
"Our bowlers are such good sportspeople and it was a really proud moment for Aldo [Belmonte] and I," she said.
"We're so proud of Hugo for his first ever win... he bowls like his dad and looks like his dad. It was special.
"I don't think Hugo was expecting the win and he was really surprised. "This event was about everyone and we had some other really good performances as William Rollin scored 272 which was phenomenal."
