Why was Sam Farraway (who may be a nice person) but is an un-elected member of the Nationals (name on official plaque as well) the correct person at this opening [the Ian Armstrong Building in Prince Street]?

It should be the local state member Mr Philip Donato MP (the elected state member for Orange).
Phil was no where to be seen.
I guess he was not invited because he from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party, not the Nationals.
If the Nats continue down this road of not inviting the elected member to official functions but have unelected reps they will never hold the seat of Orange again.
Such a low self-centered political act.
The local member (who won the last election with increased numbers), no matter what party they are from, should be the official representing the people who elected them.
EDITOR'S NOTE: According to Mr Donato's office he was invited to the event via text the evening before however due to the late notice was unable to attend.
