The home side was looking to make it two-from-two wins against the Mungoes in 2020 but after shooting out to a 12-4 lead early on, Jared Brodrick's men were mowed down by the reigning premiers, eventually losing 22-12.

The game was in the balance throughout the whole second stanza but Cargo took a huge blow when impactful second rower Lawrence Fogg was sent to the sin bin for mouthing off to the referee, forcing Cargo to defend their goal line for the ensuing ten minutes.

While they didn't surrender a try during that period (despite a weight of possession for the students), it's likely the torrid stretch of work took its toll on the men in blue in the latter stages of the contest.

When Fogg returned to the field, the scoreline was 16-12 to CSU and Cargo looked likely to even the score as they pressed up the field through big charges from Ryley Oborn and Dan Madden.

But when CSU centre Blake Schaefer shot out of the line to cut off a long ball from the Heelers, he wound up with the Steeden in his chest and 80 metres of open pasture ahead.

The long-range try gave the away side a buffer that panned out to be enough to get the result as they successfully flipped the script on the heart-breaking round four loss to the Heelers.

For CSU, they will travel to Oberon to take on the Tigers in the grand-final qualifying semi after losing the same fixture 26-8 just four weeks ago.

The Tigers are odds-on favourites to take out the title but were perhaps surprisingly pushed to their limits by the Heelers in the final round, passing Cargo 28-18 at home.

Just a week after finals to Barbarians in the final round of the competition, Kurt Beahan's Warriors eliminated their cross-town rivals from the competition with a 32-24 win.

Despite securing the win, the Warriors still struggled majorly on the goal-kicking front, kicking just one out of six conversions and will need to address that area ahead of next weekend's contest against Cargo.

Although place kicking was an issue, United was able to capitalise on some off-the-cuff football as Kurt Beahan gave his side permission to take the shackles off in the lead-up to the contest.

The win is just the side's second this season but they will move into next weekend's elimination finals clash against Cargo with confidence, knowing they were two points short of beating the Heelers in their own backyard less than a month ago.

For Barbarians, the loss spells the end to what was a challenging campaign as they battled with low playing numbers for most of the campaign.
