Justin West, 29, of Moad Street, was drug tested by police in Algona Crescent on January 29.
According to police, officers saw a car reverse out of a driveway, stop in the middle of the road blocking the roadway and then drive back into the driveway at 10.20am. West got out of the driver's seat and walked towards a residence.
Police recognised several occupants in the car and knew West had a disqualified driver's licence. A check revealed his licence was disqualified until March 2025.
He said he was just moving the car but tested positive to a roadside drug test, and he returned a result for methamphetamine on analysis.
Magistrate David Day convicted him and disqualified him from driving for three months, he also convicted West for trespassing at the Ophir Tavern on February 23.
It was a bail condition for an unrelated 2019 matter that he not enter the tavern where he was seen in the gaming area before staff told him to leave.
