The store inside the Armada Shopping Centre at Bathurst will close its doors for good on Saturday, October 10, giving workers almost three weeks to complete the conversion to a Kmart outlet.
It has previously been confirmed that the Kmart store will open on Thursday, October 29 after more than a year of speculation over whether the popular store would be returning to Bathurst.
A spokesperson for the Kmart Group told the Australian Community Media earlier this month that there would be a "guaranteed job offer for all the Target team" currently employed in Bathurst.
"Kmart has experienced strong growth over several years and the Group are very confident its presence will provide numerous benefits, including direct and indirect employment opportunities for people in your community," the spokesperson said.
Kmart had previously occupied the same site inside the Stockland Shopping Centre, as it was then known, before being taken over by Target more than a decade ago.
The Target brand will remain accessible for Bathurst shoppers through its online store at target.com.au.
