Friday's initial falls - around 3mm had fallen at time of print - are expected to be met with decent follow-on rain, with a better than 50 per cent chance of showers every day next week.
As much as 5mm is predicted to fall every day, which will add to the 34.18 per cent total combined storage levels of both Suma Park and Spring Creek dams.
Both Lake Canobolas and Gosling Creek Dam are at 100 per cent capacity.
If the levels continue to rise at the current rate and the 40 per cent mark is eclipsed, Level 4 water restrictions would replace the current tight Level 5 rules.
Orange residents are being frugal with water use. Last week the average use was 127 litres per person per day.
Temperature wise, Orange will max out at 11 degrees Celcius on Tuesday and Wednesday before dipping to seven degrees on Thursday.
