He chose to remind us that he fought for 20 years for the Robertson Park toilet block to become a reality.
He shouldn't be proud of that!
Councillor Taylor's comment that he "hoped for a swifter campaign for Perry Oval " confirms that it is time that he (and a number of other Councillors) make the decision not to stand for re-election when the next Council elections are held in September 2021.
The old guard have been on Council far too long. It is time for change and it is to be hoped that some worthy candidates emerge in the next few months
Perry Oval is a valuable community resource which has been sadly neglected by Council in recent years. It has been forgotten.
It has some very expensive light towers and a couple of relatively new cricket nets.
If a 2013 report to Council recommended that the amenities building be locked up, why wasn't the report acted on at the time?
It would make a good training facility for junior sporting teams if the ground was brought up to an acceptable standard.
I am sure the couple of shops opposite the ground in Clinton Street would appreciate some extra business if the ground was being regularly used.
The ball is in council's court.
I will be most interested to see what if any decisions are made.
