Orange City councillor Jason Hamling and council are looking for new homes for Wade Park's iconic blue seating so the seats can continue to witness sporting feats across the city.

The seats will be replaced later this year with brand-new seating, and council is offering the seats to clubs around Orange and the region instead of consigning them to being thrown out.

"We've had inquiries from a number of sporting clubs from both Orange and outside of Orange," Cr Hamling said.

"There are a lot of seats there so we'll be able to split them up."

He said there had been inquiries from "a number" of sporting clubs and organisations from Orange and further afield.

Orange City has put its hand up for new seating after the grandstand at Pride Park burned down last year, while the Orange District Softball Association has also thrown its hat into the ring to get a piece of Orange sporting history to Jack Brabham Park.

Cr Hamling also said there had also been a request from the rugby club at Cowra.

"We'll fill the requests from Orange first and then if Cowra wants them they're more than welcome to them," he said.

"I don't want them thrown away if we can help it.

"If there are people who want them they can have them before we throw them out."

The seats originally arrived in Orange from the Sydney Cricket Ground.
