The local competition will continue and scorers and timekeepers will be encouraged - but not forced - to wear masks.
Umpires and players would not be forced to wear masks.
Orange Basketball Association president Gerald Power said it would be "up to individuals" to wear mask as spectators if they wanted to.
"Obviously people who are at a higher risk might want to wear them, but there's no directive forcing people to wear masks," he said.
People around Orange have began using masks, with plenty of people in supermarkets and at the Farmers Market on the weekend masking up, while the hospital has made masks mandatory.
On Wednesday NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian flagged more restrictions around mask use, while the state's Chief Medical Officer Kerry Chant encouraged people to wear masks if they were unable to social distance.
Mr Power said there was no indication at this stage spectators would be required to wear masks.
