Dozens of roads - including Cargo Road, Clergate Road, Four Mile Creek Road and briefly the Mitchell Highway - were blocked, while trampolines were sent spiralling through backyards, roofs from Molong to Orange were damaged and power was cut.

Orange airport recorded wind gusts of upwards of 70km/h, while 12.4mm of rain fell.

There was also "significant" damage to the Railway Hotel at Spring Hill after the awning was ripped off.

However, an SES spokesperson said there'd be no reports of injuries or motor vehicle accidents, and volunteer crews on the ground in Orange had finished all 75 jobs by about 8.30pm on Friday.

"Orange is a very active unit, to get to 75 jobs and address all of them is a fantastic response in the wind and the rain yesterday afternoon," the spokesperson said.

"They were at a whole range of jobs from roofing to trees down."

The worst of the weather has now passed, and while the city is expected to receive up to 10mm of rain on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, there's little to no wind expected with the rain.

"Our eyes are turning to a low pressure system in the Great Australian Bight which could see some averse conditions come our way," the spokesperson said.
