Central Tablelands local landcare coordinator Geraldine Brown said they didn't organise any public events because of the COVID-19 restrictions.
"With a lot of people staying at home, we felt it would be a good idea to do something as a do-it-yourself Landcare week," she said.
"I think at the moment people are feeling quite anxious and concerned, there are things that Landcare wants to do but we are limited by restrictions and guidelines and rightly so.
"This week people can do something simple that doesn't involve any cost and you don't have to leave your home."
Ms Brown said recent newsletter outlines a variety of things people can do including sitting in your garden, planting a small veggie patch or go for a walk around the neighbourhood.
"With the newsletter, the photos attached are ones that I have taken myself from my own backyard and for the first time since releasing the newsletters I have gotten responses from the community saying they really like the tone of it," she said.
"This week, I have sat in my garden, listed to the birds and the sound of water running through our creek which is something we haven't heard for quite a while now."
Ms Brown added the Central Tablelands Landcare is going extremely well despite the cancellations of public events.
"We are trying to reschedule the events that was planned earlier in the year, but it's a wait and see game at the moment," she said.
"We have been awarded a couple of grants by the Environmental Trust and we're rejigging work plans with them.
"We've been attending webinars and Zoom meetings, taking the opportunity to fix up our systems and do a little bit of education for ourselves during this time."
