Women's Forum chairwoman Mary Brell said the organisation was not opposed to helping men but this time the focus was on women but because the pandemic has effected women's employment on a greater scale.
Ms Brell said the forum's mental health and mentoring groups got together a few weeks ago because the group felt it needed to do something for women to help them get back on their feet.
"The idea was to help them gain more skills in more areas," she said.
To help women learn how to gain those new skills and find out what courses are available, the forum is launching COVID Career Support Evening.
It will be a Zoom event involving speakers from TAFE NSW and Charles Sturt University, who will discuss free and low cost courses women can undertake to kickstart their careers.
Ms Brell said the discussion will include making women aware of the federal government's relief package and how it can be used to for university courses.
"TAFE is exactly the same, they've got these courses that they are offering," she said.
VERTO will also join the forum to discuss its employment and training services and to advise participants as to where the job opportunities are.
A member of the NSW Health's mental health team will be available for questions and support.
Central West Women's Forum has a diverse membership, including some men and is pursuing goals to give a voice to women of the Central West who want to make a difference, achieve results and influence the choices available across the region.
The forum hosts quarterly events with inspirational speakers and also has a series of working groups that meet regularly to work on individual issues.
The groups included, leadership, governance, mentoring, well-being and mental health, and financial literacy.
The COVID Career Support Evening will be held on Saturday, August 22 by Zoom from 6pm. For more information visit www.facebook.com/centralwestwomen.
