It was announced on Thursday Orange would receive $1.17 million from the Resources for Regions program.
Mayor Cr Reg Kidd said council would decide how to spend the money.
However, he said the Naylor Pavilion project would be considered for the funding.
"I can guarantee we have shovel-ready projects, I can think of a couple," he said.
"I can see the amenities and toilets in the Naylor Pavilion at the showground. That will make that a great asset. We have got the work continuing on at Wade Park.
"All good community projects that people will be able to use."
Sam Farraway MLC said the government had a "$50 million bucket" of funds available to mining-impacted communities in NSW.
He said it was for community programs and infrastructure.
