Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown said the Australian All-Star has been sinking three-pointers in practice at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as the team prepares for the restart of the NBA season.

Simmons also teased fans by releasing a YouTube video of recent workouts in Los Angeles where he repeatedly drops three-pointers and jump shots and is heard telling another player he will be shooting more in Orlando.

"His three-point shot is looking good," Brown told reporters on Thursday.

"He has shot more threes in practice the last few days than what he might have for almost half the season.

"He looks good, he feels good and I know he is getting tremendous encouragement from his team-mates."

Simmons has frustrated Brown, teammates and fans with his reluctance to shoot from range during his first three seasons in the NBA.

He has attempted just 24 three-pointers in regular and playoff games and was only successful twice.

Simmons also connected with a three-pointer in a pre-season game against China's Guangzhou Loong-Lions in October.

After Simmons knocked down a three-pointer in December against Cleveland Cavaliers, Brown went public with his desire for Simmons to attempt at least one per game.

Brown's wish fell on deaf ears.

Simmons' YouTube workout video, released this week, may signal a change in mindset.

Simmons is shown repeatedly from outside and Detroit Pistons' Tony Snell telling him his shot looks good and he should shoot more.

Simmons responds with: "Orlando".

"Orlando? I'll be watching" Snell replies.

Simmons then delivers an ominous warning.

"I'm coming for it," Simmons tells Snell.

The 76ers have scrimmages scheduled in the NBA's Orlando "bubble" with Memphis Grizzlies on July 24, Oklahoma City on July 26 and Dallas Mavericks on July 28.

The 76ers' first game of the regular season restart is against Indiana Pacers on August 1.
