Since the campaign's launch, Orange City Council has given away 200 Shop Orange vouchers valued at $50 each, injecting $10,000 into the local economy and giving a boost to businesses who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Reg Kidd said the council wants to see as many local business owners register their interest so when the competition winners are looking at where they can spend their gift vouchers, their store is on the list.
"The main reason behind this campaign was to give back to our community and help businesses who have been struggling for the last few months," Cr Kidd said.
"We really want to see as many local business owners register their interest so when our competition winners are looking at where they can spend their gift vouchers, their store is on the list."
Employment and Economic Development Committee chairmanTony Mileto said more than 100 local businesses are involved in the $90,000 Shop Orange card promotion.
He said $50,000 of the funding was from Orange and another $40,000 was from Cadia Valley Operations to be spent across the Orange retail sector.
Businesses can register at www.shoporange.com.au/home.
