Acting postal manager Emma Kelly said the post office is "moving better now, even though there are still many parcels".
"We have a lot of small businesses in the area and their online orders have just skyrocketed in recent months," she said.
"A lot of people are buying things they'd normally go to the shops for too, like wine and office supplies, even gym equipment so parcels are often a lot bigger."
Miss Kelly said post office is set up pretty well but the volume of parcels has been a challenge.
"Usually we are busy like this for one or two weeks around Christmas but it has been months now," she said.
"At the start, there were significant delays because of fewer flights and social distancing in our facilities.
"It was difficult to explain to our customers how and why this affected their deliveries."
Customers may have noticed some changes due to COVID-19, including extra signs, perspex barriers and the Post Office no longer requires a signature for delivery or collection.
"It has been working well and our customers are really understanding and thankful of the changes," Miss Kelly said.
Despite the challenges COVID-19, Miss Kelly added she has enjoyed helping the community.
"Local businesses need us and it's important that we help them continue to operate," she said.
"We've helped quite a few to understand and access the best possible rates through opening a MyPost Business account.
"I've lived and worked in Orange my whole life and it's nice to keep connected to my community."
