The club ran onto the field in an all-ages division for the first time in over a decade as the Orange District Football Association season resumed for season 2020, and while they went down to CYMS captain-coach Pete Terry said it was a "much needed" run around.
"We were like kids in a candy shop, we had 17-year-olds up to a 56-year-old running around out there," he said.
"From students to farmers to mechanics to everything in between it's been great for the community to come down and see each other.
"It was great for our physical and mental health."
Cam Thornberry found the back of the net both times for the club to record their first goals since 2009, and Terry said the first was cause for huge celebration and "plenty of elbow bumps".
The club had a large contingent of junior support on the sidelines, too, with the club having fielded plenty of junior sides in recent years - just no seniors.
Were they disheartened by the loss?
"No, not at all. It was great, every minute of it," Terry said.
