Orange and Bathurst Corps Officer Kate Cathcart said she is proud of the efforts the community, businesses and schools have contributed to the digital doorknock.
"We have raised $26,000 so far and we expect the final number to be at least $30,000," she said.
"We didn't know what to expect but we thank everyone for their donations that will go towards helping people in our community.
"We recognised during COVID-19 that we may suffer a shortfall in donations but we're grateful for all the support."
According to Ms Cathcart, some of the stand out donors include the Salvation Army store manager Col Barnes, chairperson for the Red Shield Committee Tony Rodd, Orange Christian School, Orange Anglican Grammar School, Bowen Public School, Cadia Valley Operations and Charlie Colgan.
"Last week, I visited Bowen Public School on its casual clothing day and was blown away by the cuteness of the students as they asked questions about the Salvos and they raised $200," she said.
"A big shout out and thank you to Charlie Colgan who raised $745 exceeding his goal of $450 and to Col Barnes who has been swimming every morning and raised over $1,000."
The donations raised is anticipated to go towards helping the Salvation Army with their Christmas work and direct support for referrals.
"We have put forward a plan on how the Orange Salvos will utilise the money to help community members in need for the year," Ms Cathcart said.
"We anticipate to spend some of the money towards Christmas hampers which will provide essential items of food and toys to families in need.
"We will also help community members on a referral and case basis to provide them with essential needs, whether that be a vacuum or rent assistance, we want people to get well rounded support with what they need."
