Up to four students will undertake acting masterclasses with Bell Shakespeare artists, observe rehearsals, see live theatre and perform their winning monologue for John Bell, artistic director Peter Evans and a Bell Shakespeare cast.
In 2019, Bathurst's Scots All Saints College Year 12 student Stella Gavey was one of four students to receive the scholarship.
Prospective actors can chose from nine selected Shakespeare monologues Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors, The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing and Titus Andronicus which is available on the Bell Shakespeare's website.
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 auditions will be online via Zoom sessions with Bell Shakespeare teaching artists.
To enter, students must be enrolled in a regional high school full-time and be 16 years of age or older by December 31.
Auditions close on October 31 and to download the monologue and apply, head to: www.bellshakespeare.com.au/whats-on/learning-opportunities/john-bell-scholarship/
