However, Central West Police District Acting Inspector Luke Cole said both sites had permits for fireworks.
Acting Inspector Cole said police went to the addresses, in Park Road and Cecil Road, on Saturday night after receiving complaints.
Concerns about the fireworks were also expressed on social media.
The state government body SafeWork NSW issues permits for people to conduct legal fireworks displays.
Its website lists the addresses of approved fireworks sites.
It said the Park Road address was approved for a ground fireworks display from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
The Cecil Road address was approved for a Chinese string and ground fireworks display from 6pm-9pm.
Fireworks are legal in NSW provided the people responsible for them obtain a permit.
