Australian composer Alice Chance is set to capture the attention of music students and teachers during a day long workshop at the Orange Regional Conservatorium.

The free event will be hosted on July 16 as she will be working with the Acacia Quartet on her Sundried String Quartet composition.
Conservatorium director Donna Riles said she is looking forward to attendees to learn more about the process about making their own music. .
"The workshop will focus on students in years 10 to 12 and music teachers about the process of composing music and how to compose beyond the HSC for their own engagement," she said.
"Alice will also discuss what to do when composers are stuck with writers block, how to overcome it, how to capturing ideas and conveying them to the audience.
"Currently, we have six registrations for the event and at this time we will only be allowed to have 20 people attending."
