While face-to-face events and workshops are still on hold due to COVID-19, these activity packs are available to pre-order and pick up from the Museum and Library throughout the July school holidays.
The packs feature creative activities, puzzles, and challenges, and will help families keep little hands busy over the break.
The Museum and Gallery have teamed up to create two activity packs from our current joint project Regenerate, exploring the unique plants and animals that call Mount Canobolas home.
Activities include creating a DIY leaf wall hanging, an origami planarian and a memory game.
A third pack is also available from the Museum, featuring fun look-and-make crafts inspired by the scientific photography on display in Capturing Nature: early photography at the Australian Museum 1857-1893.
Families can spend some time exploring the exhibitions at the Museum when picking up activity packs to learn more about the animals and plants featured in both Regenerate and Capturing Nature.
Central West Libraries is also offering a take-home Rock, Paper, City Activity Pack to stimulate creative minds.
These packs feature a Cardboard City project, where children can don their architect's hat and construct buildings, vehicles, trees and more from provided materials.
Kids can then add their constructions to the Cardboard City in their branch library.
Information on the LEGO Club Holiday Challenge is also included, where children are invited to construct some of the Central West's most iconic buildings and submit their entry into the prize draw.
Museum and Gallery Packs are available to order via www.holidayactivitypacks.eventbrite.com.au, and can be picked up from the Museum on weekdays between 9am and 4pm.
Pre-ordering packs is essential.
Rock, Paper, City Activity Packs will also be available to pick up from Central West Libraries branches from Friday, July 3.
